In this paper, the microstrip antenna, which consists of the history, basic model and theories of radiation,. is introduced first Following are the radiation characteristics of antenna array and microstrip power divider, and the design of feed network for microstrip antenna array. Then the linear polarizated microstrip antenna array designed for MIMO communication, the low sidelobe antenna array and circular polarizaed antenna array are discussed. The unit of the antenna array is patch antenna fed by aperture coupling.MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication mostly refers to the simultaneous sending and receiving of wireless network signals through multiple antennas, and this technique can increase the rate of data transmission. A linear polarizated microstrip antenna array for MIMO communication is designed and debuged in this paper. The simulation and test results are analyzed here. The tested VSWR is less than 1.5 in the required band and the antenna gain is greater than 18dB, and they both satisfy the requirements well..In designing the low-sidelobe array antenna, the H plane SLL is up to the-19dB by designing the feed network. Circular polarizated antenna array is designed through feeding two perpendicular H-shaped slots. The two H-shaped slots are fed by the current with the same amplitude and 90°phase difference, and then the antenna is circular polarized.
