As an important aspect on radar data processing, target tracking has becoming one of the international popular research fields. Combined with the project of target tracking of radar, this paper analysis the key technologies involved in view of engineering applications. Two kinds of filtering algorithms are further discussed. These algorithms include adaptiveα-βfiltering in the spherical coordinate and adaptive kalman filtering algorithm base on"current"statistical model. The exactitude of adaptiveα-βfiltering is verified by analysis, and the algorithm is porne to engineering applications for its high efficiency. Using the speed of targets, an improved slip-window initiative method of track is given, which can eliminate the initiative of clutter and be applied to engineering applications due to small operation.Combination of engineering applications, the cell search in single target tracking is introduced to ensure the accuracy of track initiation. Considering the mass operation in track correlation, a method of fast track correlation with dual sector partition is proposed to save the computing time.Owing to the traditional target tracking a method to request high Signal Noise Ratio(SNR), this paper discussed two kinds of track before detect that used for radar systems, and verify its good functions in small and weak target detection by analysis.
