LED panel, which composed of lattice modules, is a new technology product. And because of its many features such as brilliant color, excellent dynamic performance, long age, low cost and strong ability to adapt environment, it has been used widely in many fields such as commercial advertisement, financial market, and so on.With the development of LED technology, more and more researches about LED display system appeared. However, many of them put particular emphasis on different realization about different chips such as single-chip microcomputer, ARM, DSP, FPGA and so on. And it was ignored that research about data storage structure. Therefore, many problems appeared such as low storage efficiency, low accessing speed, and update problem. In this paper, data storage structure of display system is researched deeply to solve these problems.The overall design of the system is first described and system design goals are given in this paper and then design direction is clear. Then, the system block diagram is given and the main components of the system are introduced separately, and their respective functions are briefly described. In this paper, a new method of MCU cooperating with CPLD, the method of ping pang inside the chip, is provided, witch need only one chip, And communication protocol is designed in detail on the basis of data types of display system being divided.LED display system of data storage structures are studied in-depth in this paper based on introduce of knowledge of data structures. And three allocating strategy of storage space, fixed-address allocation, continuous allocation and dynamic allocation are proposed. And four storage structure of display system, the order of the table structure, link list structure, index structures and composite structures are putted forward. And their basic ideas are introduced and described in programming language; their respective advantages and disadvantages are analyzed; their applications of occasions are given in this paper. At last, an application example is given in this chapter, which designs a complex storage structure that synthesize allocation strategy and the storage structure of knowledge. And it has fast access speed and high Storage space utilization.The article detailed designs functions in display system including the function of graphic information editing, font information extraction, special effects display design and communication between host computer and the next crew. And the image compression and paging, paging character display technology are highlighted in the introduce of graphic information editing, and font information extraction focused on analyzing the process of its extraction, and design of communication between host computer and the next crew is introduced from the communications point of both ends, and introduction to the special effects display is described with top-shifting algorithm and left-shifting algorithm as an example.At the end of this paper, each functional module of control and display system is tested, and the result show that these function modules meet the design objectives, and the operation simple and convenient. The data storage structure of display system is tested with tool also, and the conclusion is that system is fully in accordance with the design of the allocation strategy to allocate storage space, and the design of the storage structure to store data. And it has advantages of a high utilization rate of storage space and a flexible storage.
