How to improve the utilization of the existing wireless network resources and optimize wireless network performances are significant. While multicast technology can effectively solve the single-source-multiple-receiver transmission problems to save network bandwidth and reduce the network load. However, due to the unreliability of wireless links, it is difficult to achieve optimal performances in wireless multicast network. With network coding, wireless multicast communication system can provide high throughput, good load balancing, low resource consumption, strong robustness and error correction ability. The performances of wireless multicast network with network coding are main contents of this thesis.Firstly, this thesis analyzes how to use network coding in wireless multicast communication system and the impact of wireless multicast performances with network coding. Then a way of wireless multicast performance evaluation is given. By modeling the wireless multicast communication system, simulation and analysis on performances of single-source multicast system have been finished when the communication network is acyclic. Based the recent research on throughput, resource consumption and load balancing, an advanced dynamic load balancing routing algorithm with network coding based wireless multicast is proposed. By which the multicast network can effectively use the idle links in network to ease network jam caused by busy links in network. With simulations on traditional routing algorithm, general network coding routing algorithm and advanced dynamic load balancing routing algorithm with network coding based wireless multicast, performance trends of wireless multicast with advanced routing algorithm are shown and analyzed compared to the former two routing algorithms.Secondly, the delay performance of wireless multicast network with network coding is investigated. Based on the existing research on encoding delay or decoding delay by Queuing Model, comprehensive descriptions and analysis of different parts of multicast delay caused in transmission process with network coding are provided in this thesis. Simulation on waiting delay which is the main part of multicast delay with network coding shows that wireless multicast scale has a great influence on the delay performance, and the larger the scale, the greater the value of the multicast delay. While the scale is constant, changes of receiver number have little effect on delay performance in multicast.
