Real world can show a wide range of light, and our visual system can very effectively meet the dynamic range. Currently the technology of storing real-world dynamic range of HDRI has matured, and it obtained a consistent feeling for the observer and the observer involved in real sense of the environment. Although the general image technology can provide more and better ways, but because of the general display device can only output a small dynamic range of the image, the device does not reflect the real world of dynamic effects, the low dynamic limitations on the general display device has exposed. In the case of high dynamic output device's costliness, foreign researchers have proposed many different tone mapping operators (TMO) for the HDR compression, and the research of the tone mapping algorithm have great potential and prospects in the field of all of society.This paper has studied the current representative of the HDR tone mapping algorithm and found that most of the existing tone mapping algorithms only deal with the luminance channel and some algorithms even affect the image color information, which lead to decreased image contrast and detail information. This paper propose a improved method based on Reinhard's tone mapping algorithm, and the new algorithm is also added to the color information processing, enhanced image contrast, to achieve better dynamic range of image compression, so as to achieve rebuilding the image effect.Experiments show that the improved tone mapping algorithm based on Reinhard can be applied to high dynamic range image adjustments in most cases and produce very good visual effects of the low dynamic image. Based on the tone mapping algorithm and implementation of this technology not only contribute to the research, but also contribute to high dynamic range images which can be better used in satellite meteorology, medical, display devices and other social areas.
