With the development of surveying & mapping technology, vehicle-borne mobile mapping technology is a hot issue in modern mapping field. The main sensors include Global Positioning System(GPS),Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU),Digital Camera,Laser Scanner(LS), which are loaded on a car, when the car is moving forward at a certain speed, the positioning orientation data,images data and geometric data are acquired from the same platform simultaneously.Array CCD is a digital camera sensor in the vehicle-borne mobile mapping system, which can acquire the images information of the objects, the images can not only provide detail images data but also supply texture information for 3D modeling. In this paper, a new array CCD control exposure system based on ARM and azimuth sensor is introduced, the system is an automatic control system and acquire integrate image information, which promotes efficiency of images acquisition.Vehicle-borne data processing is an important part in the vehicle-borne mobile mapping system, laser scanner can acquire 3D point cloud data of the objects timely. In this paper, a method which can integrates laser point cloud and images data is proposed, after the relevant data processing, a high dense point cloud graph which has color information is acquired, many detail information can be discerned from this graph. Besides these, during the data processing, 3D geometric model is built by the point cloud, so the texture projection is also a key part, the high quality and efficiency texture projection can improve the speed of 3D modeling, so a research on semi-automatic texture projection based on Google SketchUp software secondary development is proposed in this paper.
