Rapid growth of availability of network access makes it much easier to get digital contents.Digital contents can be easily duplicated and have the characteristic of easy transmission. Those contents can be used, copied and spread without limit until they has been protected. In order to solve the problems technically about copyrights protection of digital works, DRM comes out. It protects digital contents from being used illegally, copied or modified by some calculation methods. Consumers can't use the digital contents until they get the authorization.Digital Rights Management (DRM) has taken much interest in Internet Service Providers, authors and publishers of digital content, and has a bright future.The DRM system that this paper refers to, can control the access to the digital contents and restrict the users'operations. Also, it can embed the exclusive watermark of the contents owner's into the files with an embedding method without distortion, in order to protect and identify the ownership and copyright. In the research work, we use X.509 certificate standard to identify the user's identity, and we combine symmetric and asymmetrical encryption together in the encryption of files in order to keep the safety of contents during the transmission.Main aspects are covered in this paper:1.Analysis of the significance, path and method of the research of DRM system;2.Design of system structure of the digital work rights management system;3. Analysis to the knowledge of digital watermark and encryption technology in DRM applications;4.Design details of the digital work copyright management system;5.Test of the digital work rights management system and the result.This paper provide a deep comparison and analysis of existing copyright management technologies, and that basis, it specifies user's demand and design direction of digital copyright management system by deep comparison and demonstrate, proposed and partially implemented a multi-technology, extensible platform that can basically meet the current needs of the market.
