As the development of the wireless networks and sensor technology, precision agriculture has become the focus of attention. The application of sensors and ZigBee technology has solved the precision agriculture's problems of higher power consumption, time delay, and insecurity in acquiring agriculture information resources precisely and in real time in our country at this stage, and has made the agriculture industry automation, networking, and intelligent.In this paper, a kind of wireless data acquisition system which is based on ZigBee technique is put forward and designed according to the need of the precision agriculture development. A fixed collection terminal and a hand-held receiver consist in the system, both of which adopt a wireless RF module CC2500 and a microprocessor MSP430 and are connected to each other through the SPI interface. The fixed collection terminal takes charge of the measurement, processing, storage and sending of the environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, illumination and so on, as well as the hand-held receiver is to collect and store the data from the fixed collection terminal. Data transfer between the above two is based on ZigBee Wireless Communication Technology. Finally, the collected data is transferred to the personal computer to process, and then a scientific and rational operation program of agricultural production will be got.
