The.measurement and optimized statistical modeling for the bidirectional reflectance distribution function of laser with the target surface is studied in the paper. The hardware structure and operation software are introduced to the laser scattering automatic measuring system which is self-developed. And the working principle and performance of the measuring system are described. the angular distributions of scattering intensity with different kinds of samples are measured, which is converted to the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF)of the samples. Similarities and differences between the ant colony algorithm of discrete filter and ant colony algorithm of continuous domain are discussed. A model optimization fitness function is presented. Based on measured BRDF data, a five-parameter optimization of laser BRDF statistical model is created and the large surface roughness and index optimization of the distribution of laser BRDF statistical model is stablished using ant colony optimization algorithm.
