With the development of network technology, information security is becoming more and more important. As a basis for information security, authentication has been widely studied. For Hash function is the core technology of authentication, the security of Hash function is essential. However, the security of the traditional Hash functions is being challenged. To find new Hash function becomes a research hotspot. Chaotic systems have properties of unforgeability, irreversibility and sensitivity to the initial value, for which it can be used to construct Hash function.This paper introduces the authentication technology and Hash function theory, indicates the importance of Hash function in identity authentication, and the security issues of traditional Hash function. Besides, chaos theory, especially the spatiotemporal chaos theory, is studied as an important point.According to the above basic theories, this paper makes an in-depth study and research of existing construction methods of Hash functions based on spatiotemporal chaos theory. The existing construction methods iterate slowly and are not parallel friendly. To solve the problems, a novel parallel Hash function based on spatiotemporal chaos is proposed. By analyzing the sensitivity of the initial value, the diffusion ability, the collision-free ability, flexibility, the operational efficient and parallelism, it is shown that the proposed algorithm satisfies all the performance requirements of the Hash function, is implemented more efficient than existing algorithms.This paper also researches on one-time password (OTP) authentication technology, and analyses the existing OTP authentication scheme based on chaos theory, pointing out the security flaws. Then, an OTP authentication scheme based on the spatiotemporal chaos Hash function is proposed. This scheme can effectively resist the replay attack, the imitate attack, the small number attack and etc, and implements more efficiently.
