H.264 is put forward by the ITU-T for Telecommunication Standardization Sector in March2003 as a new generation of video compression standards. Compared to the previous standardH.263 and MPEG-4, H.264 encoding is of greater efficiency.If at the same bit-rate conditions,H.264 has the higher signal to noise ratio. Because of having great advantages, H.264 videostandard has been more and more widely used. Researching H.264 standard and how toimprove it is much more important. Errors may occur when video is being transmitting,resulting in data lost. However,for features of large amounts of data is inherent in video data ,video decoder can not be made too complicated. The error recovery for video data can only behandled by the way of error-correcting codes. Using error recovery will result in lower codingefficiency and video decoding time increases whether in the video encoding layer or networkabstraction layer (NAL). Video error concealment as a class of methods only to improve thesubjective effects of video, does not require error-correcting codes for frame sequences. So,error concealment on the decoder have little effect on the overall computation, while thesubjective effects of video improved. Therefore, error concealment have a wide range ofapplications.This paper is about the error concealment processing of H.264 sequence. Intra-frame errorconcealment and inter-frame error concealment is included. Beside these, adaptive methods onintra-frame error concealment, and post-processing, sub-block, deformation of inter-frame errorconcealment are proposed. The main innovative points of this paper are:1. Proposing a adaptive intra-frame error concealment algorithm. It can significantlyimprove the subjective effects of intra-frame while the computational complexity increased alittle.2. Proposing a adaptive post-processing algorithm of inter-frame error concealment. Forvideo of fast-moving it has sound deblocking properties. Post-processing algorithm can takevideo processing operations adaptively according to motion vectors.3. Proposing a adaptive inter-frame error concealment algorithm based on blocking. Itcould decide if to block or not depending on the video to making computational complexitymatch with the subjective effects, and is the entry function of other processions based onblocking.4. Proposing a adaptive inter-frame error concealment algorithm based on deformation. It isa new method according to the development direction of H.264 and the new standards in future.Fast motion search algorithm is the main part of the algorithm. The paper proposed a new fastsearch algorithm.5. The algorithm of above are summarized. Then the paper put forward a new programusing the the four kinds of algorithms above. Experiments show that the adaptive algorithm caneffectively improve the subjective effects of video.
