View of the problem that current research focus areas of Wireless Networks- WMN (Wireless Mesh Network) can not guarantee QoS (Quality of Service) of different service, analyzed the origin and development, network architecture and key technologies of WMN, focused on the significant impact of routing protocols on network performance.A new scheme for WMN–SAR (Service-Aware Routing Protocol) was designed by analyzing the reference Ad Hoc Networks classical OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing Protocol ) routing algorithm design ideas.A new routing metric MSAR was integrated by extracting the service type information of application layer, the transmission delay information of network layer, the available bandwidth information of MAC (Media Access Control ) layer and the signal to noise ratio information of physical layer in cross-layer way. The messages between nodes completed through the HELLO packet and TC (Topology Control) packet. The routing tables for different operating characteristics were created. The algorithm was achieved on the testbed based on IXP435 and embedded Linux, received the relevant test data through FTP (File Transfer Protocol ) download, Ping programs and video-on-demand three intrasite test in Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The SAR protocol has superior performance relative to the OLSR protocol was validated through analysis and comparison of test data.
