Because the broad application of the high power narrow pulse laser in many aspects, such as laser imaging , laser processes , ocean sounds , laser medical treatment , laser communication and so on. So in this paper, we study the pulse output method of the high power narrow pulse laser. we have made use of a cavity-dumped way to experiment , but compared with the past cavity-dumped experiment, have carried out a little innovative design. We have done the study of Nd: YAG laser which pumped by the light, and adopted the way returning voltage to carry out an experiment , besides these, we replaced cable transmission signal, we manufacture a laser electrical source of high-voltage and narrow pulse by ourselves, this instrument has cut the distance that the entire signal transfers greatly , has made a fairly good laser stabilizing signal transfer, at the same time ,it will be able to output a good characteristic property laser.This electrical source is control by VMOS and the avalanche transistor, it can produce very narrow pulse leading edge, so the cavity-dumped pulse is so narrow.We use this electrical source made out a narrow pulse leading edge of 4.6 ns in width, so we use this pulse leading edge to make the experiment of cavity-dumped, at the same time, we have got pulse width be 5.6 ns from cavity-dumped experiment.
