Laser ranging is the first application of laser technology. It must be eye-safe for laser light source of the latest laser ranging equipment. The most effective technical means to obtain eye-safe laser wavelengths is the optical parametric oscillator at the present time. It's compact, high reliability and suitable for minitype solid-state lasers.In this paper, from a three-wave nonlinear process, the single resonant optical parametric oscillator was studied particularly. And a 1570nm eye-safe laser was completed on theory and mechanical design, including pulse flash lamp, condenser design, conduction cooling, OPO crystal with resonator cavity and integral construction, coating lens.Passive Q-switched 1064nm and 1570nm laser output experiments were studied in detail respectively. Ultimately a 1570nm minitype eye-safe laser was made, and it'sΦ30×135mm in size. With pulse repetition frequency of 1Hz, pulse width of 5.6ns, divergence angle of 5.2mrad, the maximum 1574nm single pulse energy of 20mJ were obtained. |
