The development of distributed optical fiber sensor is introduced in the paper.The principle of spontaneous raman scattering and temperature demodulation methods are also discussed. Basing on our experiment,We devleloped the distributed temperature sensor prototype machine.It has good performance:the measurement range is 2 km,the temperature accuracy isĀ±1 degree, spatial resolution is 2 m, and the alarm time is 10 s.To extend the range of measurement, we present the multi-channel distributed temperature sensor using optical switch to change the acquisition of multi-channel fiber. We use the computer program to control the optical switch,and get the multi channal fiber backscattering signals by APD, after the process of the high speed data acquisition card,The temperature distribution curve will be displayed in the Labview. The good results prove the feasibility of the multi-channel distributed temperature sensor.Multi-channel distributed optical fiber temperature sensor has the advantages of simple structure,easy operation,large range of measurement,and low cost. A variety of potential application can be expected.
