The rapid development of networks brings about great enhancement of human's life style.IPTV(Internet Protocol Television),supported by its cutting-edge communication systems and network products,is entering our life and becoming one of key service.However,multimedia service usually has strict demand of network quality of service.In consequence,how to measure the capacity of network and how to evaluate whether networks could carry the IPTV service are commonly concerned topics for IPTV service providers,network device manufacturers,communication system researchers,and Internet end users.As to evaluation of networks,traditional QoS(Quality of Service) parameters could not describe whole transmission performance and users' perception.Therefore, an user-oriented QoE(Quality of Experience) evaluation method is proposed.At the same time,MOS(Mean Opinion Score) score system are exploring real-time,and no-reference evaluation methods in stead of subjective ones.At present,research on IPTV video quality is in process.Since the ITU-T G.107 E-Model is regularly recognized to measure VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) service,ITU(International Telecommunications Union) established IPTV focus group to publish standards.Our research of this paper is based on ITU-T G.1070 video model,and our objective is to measure the degree of video distortion by network transmission.We use parametric method to establish a no-reference QoE model,and then we evaluate the performance of network by our model.We set non-netwok related parameters as constant and analyze how network QoS metrics correlated to video quality.Beside the packet loss in which ITU-T G.1070 model has included,we demonstrate that packet loss pattern and jitter in the IPTV transmission also play important role of the video quality.To evaluate the network transmission in the round, T-Model is proposed in which packet loss,loss pattern,and jitter is considered.The experiment in the paper shows that T-model correlates quite well with subjective opinion of IPTV video quality,and the results prove that T-model,by considering packet loss pattern of the network,is more accurate for estimate of the video quality than standard ITU-T G.1070 video model.All in all,T-Model is a model which could describe users' perception and network capability for IPTV.The model could correctly calculate the QoE in real time by network related parameters,and no video reference is required.
