The traditional security system can't meet the need of the present security system as the social developing. So people want to build the more safe and reliable system by biometric recognition technology. The fingerprint, as its unique and stable characteristics, has become one of the most widely used features. The fingerprint access control system which can connect the computer and fingerprint technology together has been used in the school and other field. There is no doubt that it will be a necessary part with the development of fingerprint technology.As a main part of the fingerprint technology, the fingerprint image process has been widely studied. The result of reorganization depends on whether the result of fingerprint image process is well or not. In order to enhance the quality of fingerprint image, it is essential to remove the noisy data, segment the interested part and enhance the finger part in a fingerprint image. In order to reach this goal, we applied the PDE(partial differential equations) method.The basic theory of PDE method is to form a PDE function and the solution for this PDE is the result. This thesis exploits the process for fingerprint image, implements the fingerprint image processing method based on PDE. Then, we discuss the problem of feature extraction and matching for the fingerprint image. The experimental results show that the PDE based method can achieve a desirable effect in denosing, segmentation and enhancement for fingerprint image process.For the important role of fingerprint recognition in access control system, it is meaningful to study the process of fingerprint image both in theory and practice.
