The perfect discrete signal is the ideal periodic correlation signal, which plays a more and more important part in the area of modernistic communication, radar and navigation systems, making the design of the perfect signal an important subject. Recently, people have used the sequence pairs which consist of two sequences to make up the perfect signals, in order to expand the space which the perfect signal exist. On these conditions, the paper analyzes and compares the internal and external researches of the perfect signals and gives a new perfect signal and studies on it.Firstly, a new kind of perfect signal-the perfect ternary sequence pairs is presented, and the properties of the perfect ternary sequence pairs are studied. A simple and fast construction of the perfect ternary sequence pairs is provided. And the perfect ternary sequence pairs is applied in the spread spectrum communication system and the result shows that the perfect ternary sequence pairs have better performance than the perfect binary sequence pairs in anti-jamming.Secondly, the spectrum characters are always researched when we study the sequence pairs, the paper also studies the spectrum characters of the perfect sequence pairs, which is the relation between the Fourier coefficients and the elements of the two sequences. As the necessary conditions of existence of the perfect ternary sequence pairs, it can reduce the searching bound of the computer.Finally, when using the perfect ternary sequence pairs as the spreading sequence in the spread spectrum communication system, we find that the selection of the sequence in the pairs which is used as the local spreading sequence influences the performance of the communication system. Therefore, aiming at the particularity of the sequence pairs when they are used in the spread spectrum communication system, the paper analyzes the power spectrum of the signal and gives a simple method to solve the problem.
