Since oil spill at sea brings serious pollution for marine environment, the research on oil spill tracking technology is of great significance for protection of marine environment. In terms of the timely tracking and monitoring for oil spill at sea, there are several methods in our country including Satellite Remote Sensing, Radar Detection, Navigation Remote Sensing, Computer Simulation, and Patrol Craft search, etc. However, these methods have their own limitation, for example, Satellite Remote Sensing can be limited by the time with lagging reaction and dependence of expert analysis; in spite of the monitor availability, Radar Detection and Navigation Remote Sensing is liable to be affected by the weather with higher cost. Therefore, the thesis will be engaged to the research of oil spilling tracking system which is cheap, convenient, and practical, and much attention will be paid to the research of tacking principle and tracking system for buoys to track or predict the oil spill according to wind force, wind direction, ocean current,temperature, etc.Currently, surfacedrift buoy has much applications in terms of oil spill tracking and surfacedrift method is used to tracking spill through buoy drifted with ocean current. After oil spill accident, the buoy will be immediately plunged into spill water and it will move with the oil slick. Based on the research on main parameter of buoy, the thesis is engaged to the research on oil spill tracking software by means of buoy, and an awareness of oil spill location and weather condition will help to realize the timely tracking for spill location, drifting speed, locus and direction.Making use of VB, the thesis does the study for oil spill tracking software system at sea and implements the basic functions for oil spill tracking platform. The system can be used by Marine Bureau and other departments to monitor or predict the spill locus to deal with the oil spill accident, providing Ship Emergency Department a timely, cheap and round-the-clock minor means, which is of great significance for marine environment protection.
