Plasma display panel (PDP), a next generation display device, adopts the novel plasma flat screen technology which develops rapidly in recent years. In addition to grasp its core technology, China still must have independent research and production line to gain a leading position in this field. As detection equipment, Light inspection machine is of great importance in the production of PDP, and the productivity of PDP is improved significantly with its application.This paper introduces the principle and structure of plasma firstly, and then illustrates the color space theory and test performance parameters in detail. After that the paper presents the hardware design scheme and realization method of the lighting detection system, and the function of each module in the system is introduced in detail. The key parts of the hardware design scheme were the design of visual positioning system, system calibration, the set of Fast to the positioning system, and the communication functions between the positioning system and PLC system. The servo positioning software was designed with the insurance of the system accuracy. The positioning precision reached ? 5? mwith this module design scheme. In addition, this paper also presented the PC design scheme of the lighting detection system, and the PC system software programming. The system can efficiently implement plasma test through the PC system, the color analyzer, the digital signal generator, PLC and the communication control of the powers, thus satisfying the requirements of plasma production line to the test system.
