Multiple Input Multiply Output (MIMO),which can dramatically increase the channel capacity and spectral efficiency for a wireless system without occupying more bandwidth,has become one of the key techniques for next-generation mobile communication system.This thesis begins with the model of BLAST(Bell Labs Layered Space-Time). Then the performance of three improved MIMO Detection Algorithms (ML-DFE, ZF-LSD-DFE, HPML) are compared by simulation. Considering the BER (bit error rate) and the complexity, the simulation results demonstrate that the performance of HPML algorithm can approach that of ML when the traveling number is not less than the half of the transmitting antenna number, and the complexity of HPML algorithm is smaller than that of ML. So HPML algorithm is the most proper choice for implementation on hardware platform.Finally, HPML algorithm is implemented based on the hardware framework of DSP combined with FPGA. The hardware design of DSP module and the process of HPML detection algorithm are elaborated in this thesis. |
