Next Generation Network (NGN) based on Soft-Switch which is service-driven has formed a relatively independent service system by separating call control from service and bearer. This makes the provision of the service which is independent of network more flexible and efficient in a real sense. But many problems still exist when Soft-Switch is applied on a large scale. Currently, the most prominent problems are the quality assurance of the bearer network and the adaptation of maintenance system. Detailed research on optimizing the ISUP circuit maintenance system in Soft-Switch network is conducted in this paper.Firstly, the concept of Soft-Switch is introduced in this paper, and then the framework of Soft-Switch system and the structure as well as function of Soft-Switch core facilities are discussed. Secondly, ISUP signalling messages and the keystone of ISUP circuit maintenance are studied. Optimized projects based on the analysis of the shortcomings existing in the application of ISUP trunk circuit maintenance are proposed. ISUP Circuit Status Consistency check is a way that improves the rate of call connection, and Continuity check is a way to improve the quality of voice. Both of the projects are detailed expounded in the aspect of design principium, implementation procedure, and test schedule. Finally, sufficient analysis is carried out according to the statistical comparison to the test results.
