With the development of computer hardware and graphics processing capabilities, virtual reality technology is widely applied in the field of military simulation, such as the simulation of the combat command and weapon system simulation experiment and so on. Therefore, the study of virtual reality has important significance. In this paper, on the basic of the important theories of Computer Graphics, a virtual reality system is implemented by using OpenGL and VC++. The system simulates the whole process of missile tests, including the stage of missile launching, flight and explosion after hitting the target. In addition, the system also involves the drawing of environmental scenes. This paper focuses on the particle system, collision detection and texture mapping techniques. The problem of texture aliasing is solved by the Mip-map texture technology. And in accordance with the actual needs of the system, the region of the particle is changed and collision detection algorithm is appropriately simplied. The results show that these improvements well satisfied to the system's functional requirements.
