High power solid-state lasers could output laser which the wavelength in the IR could be transmitted by fiber, and the structure stability is good, the peak power is high. So the high power solid-state lasers have a broad application prospects in the laser processing. The use of two-rod or multi-rod connection technology can effectively improve the solid-state lasers output power (energy). It is proposed to make a high power solid laser amplifier tentative design in the paper, which is going to have great energy utilization efficiency and strong output. Its characteristic is coherent stimulated amplification. The main research content is divided into the following sections:(1) Introduction of laser amplifiers history and high power lasers development and application, then the main content and purpose of the research in this dissertation are given as follows.(2) The working principle of a solid-state laser amplifier, which leads to two-rod connection resonator is a laser amplifier technology. The theoretical analysis of two-rod connection resonator as the theoretical basis for this topic.(3) Based on two-rod theory, to design a basic physical structure model of a common resonator laser amplifier.(4) To analysis the resonator of this model, on the basis of resonator theory, to analysis the stable region and mode volume of the resonator by optical transmission matrix.(5) Based on an analysis conclusions, summarize the model characteristics, and give the next step of the research work.
