Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB) based on distributed control is a recommendation scheme of the IEC61375-1 Train Communication Network (TCN) standard. MVB has strict real-time, high reliability and gradually becomes the next generation bus standard for vehicle communication. As the train communication network developing, the Train-Borne Announcement System has become an integral part of urban rail vehicles.This thesis first outlines the development status of the TCN and the practical significance for our country's transport of the independent research of the MVB-related product. The lower-layer-protocol of MVB is introduced, in which some technique used in the design is analyzed in detail. Considering the demand of the system, an integrated design is given, including the structure and features. Besides the process of customizing the embedded Windows CE operating system is introduced. Then a specific design of various sub-modules is elaborated. Aimed at the functional requirement and the particularity of the train public address system, after an in-depth study of the MVB standard, a Train-Borne Announcement System Controller is designed based on the Windows CE platform. Using mature and reliable MVB technology, serial port transmission technology and LED display technology, the communication between programmable devices, automatic digital announcement, dynamic map display control and etc. are implemented. Finally a simulant train control system is built in the lab, and standard test is conducted to verify the correctness and robustness of the controller. The test result shows that the TASC is well-designed, full-featured, and meets the need of the real-time requirement. Now the TASC has applied successfully to a line of Guangzhou underground and runs stably.
