Wireless Ad Hoc networks composed of mobile terminal nodes with wireless communication device are typically characterized by their muti-hop,temporary and un-center,can be quickly built up in anywhere and at anytime, needn't be supported by basic network devices which have been constructed, and every terminal can move freely and equally.Considering the moving of nodes in Ad Hoc networks and constantly variety of network topology, the routing protocols such as RIP,OSPF etc used in traditional Internet can be not adapted to the need of Ad Hoc networks in fact,at the same time, due to the computer-capability of mobile nodes and storage-capability are low and the energy sources are limited,so the routing protocols have to be simple as best. All those add the difficulty to routing protocol design in Ad Hoc networks. In the past twenty years, many researchers put forward a series of routing protocols for Ad Hoc networks. So implement and simulation of those routing protocols have been the important issues for researching routing protocol.Firstly, this paper describes the basic characteristic of Ad Hoc networks, and introduces the existing unicast and multicast routing protocols in detail. On the basis of camparing the capability of some typical unicasts,NSR-AODV protocol and SL-AODV protocol are put forward. The new NSR-AODV protocol and SL-AODV protocol based on AODV are implemented, and analyse and simulate them by NS2.The study shows that the new algrorithms are more efficient. Finally conclusions of this paper and suggestions for future research are given. This article has five chapters as below.Chapter1 introduces the concept of AdHoc network, the history, characteristic, research hotspot, future application of Ad Hoc networks are simply present, also introduces the source and research meaning of this article. The working and innovation of this paper are given at last.Chapter2 describes detailedly the basic principle of Ad Hoc unicast routing protocol.Chapter3 puts forward the NSR-AODV protocol on the foundation of AODV.NS2 is used to analyse its performance. The study shows that the new NSR-AODV protocol is more efficient. Chapter 4 puts forward the SL-AODV protocol on the foundation of AODV.NS2 is used to analyse its performance. The study shows that the new SL-AODV protocol is more efficient.Chapter 5 summarizes this paper,at the same time suggestions for future research are given.
