In modern infrared technology development application, infrared monitoring system has been widely used today. Because active infrared imaging monitoring has advantages of intuition, good distinguish, convenient process by computer and remote control, which is put into use in the field of science research, police detection and safety protection more and more widely. Consider of the problems, such as rationality of the device selection, visibility of the images and alarm intelligence of the system, a set of active infrared imaging monitoring system with the performance of high reliable, great imaging effect, could realize image automatic alarm is designed.This paper firstly study on the principle of active infrared imaging technology, and based on this, the work orientation is determined. Then active infrared image capturing system which accord with specification has been designed and built, it mainly makes up of infrared light, low-luminance CCD camera, video capture Card and computer. This part mainly introduces the working principle of each device and points for attention of selection, meanwhile according to theoretical calculation and parameter analysis, the hardware design and selection of system is completed.When processing infrared image signal, the paper firstly analysis basic theory and common algorithm of infrared image processing, then the Retinex theory is introduced. The problem of infrared image is improved by algorithms for image enhancement based on Retinex theory, which improves image contrast and visual effect.The paper deeply studies on moving object detection algorithm based on video image, and an automatic alarm of system is realized by using Combination of passive infrared detection technology and moving object detection algorithm method. On the base of introducing basic principle of temporal difference method, an improved temporal difference method is puts forward. Then the experimental results are given. The results show that the method presented with high reliability, and could give an alarm for system accurately.
