With the rapid development of science and technology, the research on intellectual and non-contact 3D measurement technique has attracted more and more concern. The 3D measurement technique based on laser structured light is more mature. However, the system's cost is higher because of higher accuracy mechanically-driven device, so it is difficult to apply in some fields. Aiming at mentioned questions, the research on hand-held structured light laser for 3D measurement is proposed in the thesis. The higher accuracy mechanically-driven device is not necessary in this system, so its cost is lower.The focus of the thesis is on the key technologies of 3D measurement method and system construction. The main works are as follows:(1) A 3D measurement system without mechanically-driven device and with hand-held laser to measure surface profile of object is developed. Because this system is based on line structured-light, and it is a video collection, the whole 3D information of the object's profile can be acquired efficiently in a scanning process, and the problem of occlusion existing in general line structured-light measurement system is resolved.(2) Aiming at system characteristics, a facilitated calibration method of laser plane is proposed. Only two reference targets are used to finish laser plane dynamic calibration.(3) Aiming at the measuring approach in the thesis, the surface profile of 3D object may be measured with the moving structured light laser and camera, and the surface profile of 3D object can be reconstructed.(4) Based on the system operational principle, the functional modules of system software are accomplished with Matlab, and the principle of each module is described. The experimental results prove that method is correct.(5) The accuracy of the measurement system and the main strategies related to improving its performance have been analyzed.
