Multistatic acoustic passive localization is a kind of acoustic source localization technology. The acoustic source localization includes active localization and passive localization. The active localization is a kind of localization technology that the probe transmits electric signal, then the signal meets the target and returns, receiving arrays changes the acoustic signal into electric signal which is being enlarged and analyzed by the receiver. The passive localization dose not transmit the electric signal, its receiver only changes the acoustic signal. Compared with the active localization , it is more secure and low power.The multistatic acoustic passive localization is a kind of acoustic source localization technology that uses multistatic(sensors) working all together. Its probe actually is a base station or a sensor. Single base station (sensor) can not ascertain the location of the acoustic source, while multistatic(sensors) are able to work together. In accord to the information from the multistatic(sensors), the system makes sure the location of the acoustic source.There are a lot of algorithms about multistatic acoustic passive localization.First of all, the thesis introduces and compares these algorithms. TDOA is applied to acoustic source localization because of high accuracy and feasibility. TDOA includes time delay estimate and the algorithm of acoustic source localization. Aims at the time delay estimate, brings forward a new cross spectral power(M-CSP) under the condition of noise. Secondly, the computer simulate result shows that the new algorithm resisting noise and reverberation is better than before. Next, the thesis deduces some formulas about passive localization in 2D and 3D plane, discusses the accuracy of 2D localization and the location of the sensors . Finally, the thesis puts forward some methods about location ambiguity. Based on the algorithmic about 2D, the paper shows the acoustic passive localization system. The feasibility of algorithmic is proved by hardware . The system achieves acoustic passive localization by using three sensors and AVR MCU. The result indicates the system is able to accomplish the acoustic source localization,which is more quickly and fewer errors.
