The Migrating Workflow is a novel trend in the area of the workflow management research recently. It is particularly suitable for the distributed business processes in which the huge data need to be frequently transmitted and many remote service procedures need to be frequently referenced. A framework was proposed in the document [13]for the migrating workflow management system, which is composed of three key factors, that is, migrating workflow management engine, migrating instance (MI), and workplace. MI is the main execution agent of workflows. The management engine is in charge of the definition of workflow procedure, the generation of MI and the coordination of many MIs, and so on. The workplace refers to the anchorage server and working-machine network associated to the server while the anchorage server is the executing place of MI.Generally, MI should corporate with other MIs (its clone and derivation included) and workplaces to accomplish some process in migrating workflow management system. Therefore, a well designed communication system is the key to ensure the whole migrating workflow management system working correctly. According to the source and destination of communication whether be on the same work place or not, we classify the communication mechanism to two parts: communication on work place internally and remote communication mechanism.In this paper, we expanded the concept of service domain communication, proposed a Migrating Instances Group Communication mode which based on service domain. According to the operation mode of M, the definition of Ms, its' structure and architecture of MI's naming system were given. According to the partition of the group communication mechanism, inter-domain communication mechanism and intra-domain communication mechanism were classed. Each of the two parts has respective communication algorithm. And then, the efficiency of the whole system was enhanced definitely. Moreover mode definition and architecture were given, communication scheme choice was proved, and primary communication algorithms were depicted. This mode do not need excessive participation of M, preserve the light weight of M and has transparency for the sender. With help of improved exiting mobile agent communication mechanism based on application layer multicast mechanism, this mode improve the communication efficiency and assure the reliability of the message delivery. This mode has good adaptability to the different scales of MI group application and different types of distribution form application.The results of our experiment showed that the mode we proposed ensured the message transferred fast and reliably, meanwhile, saved the network bandwidth and computing resources of nodes dramatically. This mode can meet the high-efficient quality and scalability needs in migrating workflow system. Besides the integrated implement of the group communication mechanism, we will focus on the security of the communication mechanism, global sequence guaranteed and reduce the communication overhead of inter-domain communication mechanism in the future.
