Rapid development of the internet makes prosperity of the web,but mass information on the web mainly user-oriented not machine-oriented. Under the circumstances ,Traditional information retrieval methods can only retrieval some information fragments with certain keywords and the result only reflects one side of the information needs of users. When computer cannot accurately understand large amount of data on the web, semantic barriers occured between users and web information.Semantic web as a development of current web is considered as next generation web, the goal of which is to make web data machine_understandable and to facilitate human-computer interaction and cooperation. The thesis is mainly carried out around the following aspects.Firstly,we introduce the research background of this thesis, point out the limitation of the current web, illustrate the semantic web proposed by Tim Berners_Lee and the related technology such as ontology, informtion acquisition and topic_based web information acquisition. These provide theoretical and practical foundation for upcoming theme of Research on Data Acquisition of SNAX.Secondly,in chapter 2,we mailnly discuss SNAX which is proposed by our laboratory.present the architecture of SNAX and disscuss the function modules of it,and point out the purpose, meanings, the characteristic and the innovation of the SNAX as well.Thirdly,in chapter 3,a SeWIA(Semantic web based Web Information Acquisition) is designed and the key technologies which SeWIA involved is disscussed. The framework, working flow, components and functionalities of SeWIA are elaborated. As a sub-system of SNAX, through combining semantic web technology with information retrieval technology, SeWIA realizes user's related information and resources collecting. Finally, through experiment justified the proposed theory. summarized the research work and prospects the next step work.
