The Design And Deployment Of The Information Query Positioning System Based On Special Wireless Network Of Public Security

Since the end of 2006, the Shanghai Min Feng Corporation, Chifeng Network Corporation, and Chifeng Public Security Bureau, collaborated to create and implement a comprehensive information technology system, the purpose of which was to assist law enforcement authorities in their work. This system provides law enforcement authorities with the ability to analyze the need for public security measures by identifying the level of criminal activity, or potential criminal activity, in any given geographic area of a city or municipality. Using current network resources and advanced GPS hardware and software systems, potential suspects can be readily identified and monitored by law enforcement, thus providing authorities with the ability to quickly locate a potential suspect, providing detailed information regarding the suspect's environment. This system thus enables law enforcement to quickly resolve criminal cases by avoiding those types of difficulties typically encountered in traditional case investigation methods, as well as averting potential criminal activity through early identification of potential suspects. Concomitantly, this system is capable of vehicle surveillance in various geographic regions, can improve the public's ability to timely receive emergency assistance, provides enhanced information services, allows for the ability to quickly request back-up unit assistance from other law enforcement entities, and provides for the remote operation and monitoring of patrols. Public security entities are currently experiencing a budget shortfall, consequently this advanced technological system will allow law enforcement to quickly resolve cases without the need for additional funding or staff. Since the implementation of this system, the local Public Security Bureau has experienced improved access to crime-related information, leading to more efficient crime detection, thus resulting in higher case resolution rates. This system has been praised not only by the front-line police officers, but also by the public and city and state government officials.
