IVCE-Based Distributed Storage

With the rapid growth of the internet, there are a lot of idle resources emerging; at the same time, the development of computer science and technology makes some applications need massive resources. The problem between the need for computer resources and the fact of large un-used resources over the internet becomes more and more severe. In this situation, iVCE(internet-based Virtual Computing Environment) comes on, it brings forward to use the idea of "On-demand Resource Aggregation" and "Automatic Resource Cooperation" to achieve the effective utilization of Internet Resources and satisfy the need of actual applications. iVCE-based Distributed Storage is a kind of practice to apply this theory.In fact, current users and applications from iVCE testbed also challenge the data storage systems that in use, and demand these systems to be more reliable, more extensible and more usable; so we design and implement iVCE-Based Distributed Storage, it means to harness the idea of iVCE to aggregate free storage resources in iVCE testbed to construct a kind of distributed storage service that can answer the challenge.This paper first introduces both the background and the purpose of the iVCE-based Distributed Storage, then gives a minute analysis of iVCE and current distributed storage systems. The following part analyzes the requirement of iVCE-Based Distributed Storage. After that, this paper describes both the design and implementation of the system in detail. At last, the test report of this system is given. In addition, this paper also designs and implements mechanisms to ensure this system's security and QoS.
