With the extensive use of multimedia services, the next generation of wireless mobile communication systems has been put forward higher requirements. The future wireless mobile communication systems should be able to offer higher data transmission rate, broader signal coverage and support higher mobility. The introduction of relay and relay cooperation communication into the existing network is considered as the most feasible improvements with the request of high rate and broad coverage. Relay cooperation communication technology has been deeply studied in WiMAX, WINNER and 3GPP, and it will have a very promising application prospects.To apply the cooperative relay in practical wireless communication, a study on relay cooperation schemes was made. Firstly, introduced basic principles of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication systems, its space-time coding techniques, especially Alamouti space time block code (STBC) encoding and decoding process was in detail presentation and packet error rate performance under SCM and Jakes channel model was simulated; briefly introduced the principle of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology and MIMO system based on OFDM. Then, introduced the principle of relay technology and the existing relay cooperation schemes, three terminals relay cooperation schemes, multi-parallel transmission relay cooperation schemes, as well as multi-hop cooperation schemes were briefly introduced and relay cooperation schemes in IEEE802.16j were analyzed. On this basis, in order to improve the existing multi-antenna relay STBC cooperation schemes, we combined relay STBC cooperation with single relay's multi-antenna beam forming and proposed a multi-antenna relay STBC cooperation scheme. Refer to the proposed scheme has large channel feedback overhead, and can not be applied to the actual system, finite rate feedback technology was researched, a suitable finite rate feedback scheme was designed. Finally, set up the OFDMA downlink relay cooperation link level simulation platform, and realized various single-antenna relay and multi-antenna relay cooperation schemes, then made a comparative analysis of the existing relay cooperation schemes with the proposed cooperation scheme.
