With the development of Embedded systems, Video/Audio Compression Technologies, Real-Time Network Transmission Technologies, Video Monitoring System has made the evolution from original analog monitoring system to Embedded system based Web monitoring system. Embedded system based on Web monitoring system is digital and can be connected to network, it stands for the developing direction of monitoring systems. IP-Camera is the kernel of Embedded system based on Web monitoring system. With the purpose of the design and implementation, this paper bring forward a hardware design scheme based on a professional H.264 chip QL202B, integrated with ARM9 processor and 10/100M MAC, supportingμClinux Operating System. The image data is collected by CMOS image sensor MT9D111, compressed in BT.656, then will be packeted and sent through Ethernet. The scheme is highly integrated, credible, convenient to develop, easy to extend, and with low cost.Around the IP camera system design based on QL202B, this paper is divided into three parts. parts. In the first part, we introduce the implementation and the application of IP camera in nowadays, and summarize the normal methods of IP camera system design. We also detailedly describe the architecture of the QL202B based system.Secondly, we analysis the requirement of the system. Then we discuss all the function modules of the camera, including main processor, video capture module, SDRAM and Flash memory module, Ethernet module, etc.In the third part, we briefly introduce the software development platform for IP Camera.The paper adopts a system design based on SoC QL202B, which is fit for H.264 compression and transmit through network. The architecture is reduced, and it is convenient for expanding, with low cost. UsingμClinux as the embedded operating system, with open source code and good portability of software, the design time is shortened.
