In the modern manufacturing, especially in the automobile and marine industries, cutting is an important process. Traditional robot teaching method can't meet the requirement in complicated works. While off-line programming technology gives solution to this problem. It's convenient for the combination of CAD/CAM, and according to the modern sensor technology, basic intelligent processing can be realized. This thesis develops a new type of cutting system based on the theory of agent and the technology of robot. The specific work includes the mechanism design and software design.The part of mechanism design describes in detail the installation of robot,the electrical treatment,the anti-collision design of cutting gun as well as the way to detect the position of workpiece. In this part, the flexible design of clamp and the design of capacitive sensor are highlights.The part of software mainly introduces the creation of database and the realization of off-line programming system. And the off-line programming system mainly describes the input of model to cut,the realization of detecting the workpiece position,the algorithm of technology groove and the generation of processing code. This thesis focus on the realization of detecting the workpiece position,the algorithm of technology groove and the inverse solution of robot position.In the end, this system is validated according to the check of function and practical cutting. The robot cutting system is successfully developed and realizes the intelligent processing by using the basic theory of agent; create the algorithm of trajectory planning and gesture set based on the needs of processing technics; the whole system satisfies the customer's needs basically, and the precision is guaranteed.
