Ultrasonic testing is a very important method in the field of non-destructive testing, which has been widely used to control on-line quality and safely inspect in-service equipment and key components. The digitization of ultrasonic testing has become an inevitable trend of the development of ultrasonic testing equipment.With the help of the basic principles of ultrasonic testing by pulse reflecting, a kind of control system of digital ultrasonic flaw detector was designed, which used MCU plus CPLD architecture to structure the entire system. This architecture effectively overcomes the shortcomings of the system which simply based on MCU or CPLD and maximizes the strengths of the both. In the process of the development, the author drew on a lot of mature experience and technology, experienced repeated research of the modules design and debugging, system integration and debugging and overcame a series of practical problems. Experimental results showed that the system was running stable and the control was reliable.The main contents are concluded as follows:①Given the design scheme of the control system based on"MCU plus CPLD architecture"by analyzing the performance characteristics of the MCU and CPLD.②Achieved the logic interface design of 51 MCU and CPLD which communicate with each other by the bus way in the CPLD.③Achieved the adjustable function of the trigger pulse which triggers the transmitting circuit of the ultrasonic flaw detector and given the schematic diagram and simulation result.④Achieved the accessing operation of A/D sampling data through MCU and CPLD to control the data storage device and given the schematic diagram and simulation result.⑤The design and implementation of Human-computer interaction.⑥Given the method of echo signal processing and result display.In the end, the author summarized the design work and gave a number of technical outlooks about digital ultrasonic flaw detector.
