Research And Implementation For The Gateway Of VOIP Based On Skype

With the development of broadband network technology, IP network information transmission has evolved from the simple text data to the multimedia information (such as voice, video, etc.), VOIP has become a cheap means of communication. With the advantage of low-cost compared to the traditional circuit-switched network, VOIP will become one of the goals for the development of the next generation network (NGN). The thesis focuses on the research and implementation for the gateway of VOIP based on Skype. With the comprehensive trend analysis of the VOIP's development at home and abroad and the research of the Skype's basic principles and properties, a Skype-based VOIP gateway system has been put forward, which has lower cost than the traditional PSTN telephone system, especially the cost of long international distance, and has solved the complexity of internal telephone network's construction.In this paper, the relevant technology of VOIP, the working principle of Skype internet telephone and the basic principle of telephone cards are analyzed firstly, and then the overall design of this program is proposed. Based on this, through the analysis of the designing principles of each module, we can derive how each module is realized in a concrete manner, and devise such modules as the module of user interface,the stack of controling the telephony cards, the stack of controling the Skype, the module of voice streams and the module of buissness logic process, thereby the design of the gateway based on the Skype is completedFinally, experimental results prove that the design of the Skype-based VoIP gateway system meet the project's requirements better.
