H.264 is the newest video international standard.Using a series of advanced technologies, its coding efficiency, erroy resilient capacity, network adaptability have gone beyond the previous standards, but it also increases the coding complexity, increase the difficulty of implementation on the consumer electronics products. The blackfin family of dsp are specifically for consumer electronics products, especially video products.Blackfin dsp is a new architecture dsp. Therefore study the H.264 standard and implementation on the blackfin dsp has great significance.Specific work and results of the paper are as follows:This article introduce the H.264 system structure and analyse some key technologies. In order to decrease the computational complexity of the algorithm,a fast algorithm for intra-prediction mode decision is proposed based on pixel's edge vector's effective amplitude, the relation between 4×4,16×16 luma blocks.Experimental results show that compared with the original intra-prediction coding scheme, the proposed algorithm reduce the computational complexity of intra-prediction coding dramatically with only trivial loss of psnr and increment of bite-rate.At the base of statistical analysis,??osed a method to judge 4×4 luma block or 16×16 luma block's prediction in advance. This item choose the JM86 encoder to transport.Finish extracting baseline profile, modify the non-compliant code and LDF file, successful transport JM86 to the Blackfin533.Based on the characteristics of the chip and the fuction of software, some optimize points, such as project level,C language optimization, cache are taken. The encoder's efficiency improve.
