Polypropylene is the thermoplastic synthetic resin with good performance, it has excellence of low specific gravity, innocuity, easy processing, good coercive impact strength performance, good coercive flexibility performance and good electricity insulation performance. Polypropylene is used widely in car industry, house wiring, electron, packing, furniture and so on. Polypropylene yield is third after ethene and polyvinylchloride in five general plastic, it consumption is second after ethene in home. So it is very important to study optimal control of polypropylene production process.Based on the introduction of the optimal control, it studied optimal control of polypropylene production process. The leading polypropylene production process is studied, combining with foregone research production, taking example for slurry propylene polymerization process and noumenon propylene polymerization process, analysing operation condition, dynamic idiosyncrasy, steady idiosyncrasy, grade transition and production process optimization. The paper production mainly is as follows: (1) Based on the researching of propylene polymerization mechanism, it established yield model and supplied condition for optimal production and heightening yield. (2) In order to optimal production and heightening yield, studying optimal arithmetic, such as POS arithmetic and DE arithmetic. It put forward POS-PF (particle swarm punish function) optimal arithmetic and DE-MPF(differential evolution multiply punish function) optimal arithmetic, the arithmetic can be satisfy with real-time optimal and searching optimal key for non-linear fuction with restriction. (3) Validating polypropylene yield model in MPCE1000 advanced process control simulation equipment, and using POS-PF and DE-MPF to achieve propylene polymerization process real-time optimal control in on-line. (4) Based on the researching of propylene polymerization mechanism, reference other scholar study, establishing cumulation melt index model and instantaneous melt index model, and founding melt index model for real production process. (5) Establishing optimal grade transition strategy based on melt index model, and doing simulation experimentation, achieving optimal operation grade transition guidance. (6) Analysing carry out of optimal control system, for example hierarchical optimization control.
