With the development of modern industrial, the development of three-dimension (3-D) measurement technology is valued. With laser technology, computer technology, such as image processing and high-tech development, optical non-contact measurement technique is widely used, especially the 3-D topography measurement technology has progressed greatly which is represented by fringe projection and regarded as the most promising method. The 3-D optical measurement system researched by this paper provides great convenience to further for the production and livelihood and expands the field of the 3-D optical measurement equipment, with a more extensive and obvious practical significance, academic significance and social values.Chapter two of this paper introduces the basic principle of 3-D profile measurement based on grating projection, the basic theory of which based on phase-shift and phase unwrapping method are discussed, where phase measuring profilometry and the principle of phase unwrapping are especially analyzed. Chapter three makes a computer simulated experiment. To several typical phase-shift methods, analyze the calculating rate and measure errors in theory and simulated in experiment. Chapter four begins to describe hardware and software design for 3-D profile measurement based on grating projection. Preliminary result of the reconstructed object is given. Chapter five introduces the relevant technology of rendering 3-D graphics. Especially describe the OpenGL programmed technology and environment. Using VC++ develop a 3-D graphics rendering software, which realizes the 3-D graphics display, material selection, observation from different angles, the enlarge and reduce, deriving the height data and so on .This paper mainly has the following innovations:1. To several typical phase-shift methods, analyze the calculating rate and measure errors in theory and simulated in experiment. The conclusion given is important because of its effectiveness in calculating, practicality in use and automatic measure for the 3-D profile measurement.2. System uses a single computer to achieve grating projection and image acquisition controlling integration, which realizes the purpose of simple system, operation easily, small, low-cost and improves the reliability of the measurement system.3. Use VC++ to write a program, which use phase measuring profilometry to make 3-D profile measurement. This program operates easily, achieves the desired design purpose and laid a foundation for the effective use of instruments.4. Use OpenGL to display 3-D graphics, which makes observation more visual.
