The Campus Network Management Model Based On User Behavior

Network management is the network a necessary condition for stable running, it is one contains many kinds of domains the question, both technical issues, but also includes legal, management, psychology and other non-technical issues. Host is the most basic network element in the Internet, and it is the subject of network behavior. Computer owner is the responsible person of network behavior, and common network attacks have taken place from the host. Therefore, the security of host is the basis of network security, and the management of user's network behavior is the key to the computer network management. Existing network management models are generally based on the functions of OSI model block, with a focus on fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security which are technical management, There is lacking of effective management method for network host and a large number of end-user, and can not satisfy the current needs of network management.This thesis proposed a campus network management model based on user behavior. The model includes four layer which are network element layer, interface layer, analysis layer and management layer. The model will combine network management with user behavior, it will management network from the point of view of user behavior, not only in the management of network equipment, but also the management of network users.The campus network management model based on user behavior that submitted by the thesis also includes a hazard assessment of user behavior sub-model. The hazard assessment of user behavior sub-model use a method that similar to Graham - Kinney method (also known as LEC ) to analyze network management information. The sub-model deal and analysis with information related to user behavior, and does a hazard assessment whit the user behavior, and to arrive at a quantitative of the value which for network managers in decision-making.The campus network management model based on user behavior amalgamated the technical character of various network equipment manufacturers. Because of making use of the functions and the management messages of the present network equipment and system, analyzing and ruling the user's network behavior, and eliminating the effect of the bad network behavior, network security and stability to run..According as the network management model based on the above, the network center of CSU has developed a network management software prototype that it is used the campus network management model based on user behavior. The software prototype has significantly reduced the burden of network administrators in the actual operation, it operates stability, has good ability of fault tolerance, and low false alarm rate, it ensures the stable operation of the campus network.
