With the rapid development of the computer, the Internet,and mobile communication technology, Internet is gradually out of its original fields of military, scientific research and education, and then penetrating into people's daily lives. From a technical point of view, the development of the network technology requires related corresponding protocol standards to make it standarized, making all kinds of applications to be implemented in accordance with uniform standards. Meanwhile, network equipment manufacturers nees to have a precise understanding of various standards so that network equipments can be implemented correctly under the standards, with which different network equipment manufacturers interconnection can be achieved. In IPv6 technolgoy-orinted Internet and 3G technology-orinted field of wireless comunications, IETF, OMA and other international organizations define corresponding communication protocols for a variety of network technologies. From the application point of view, people would like to access the network anytime, control the equipments at home remotely, and obtain get location information through network quickly. All these business require corresponding network technology standards to make them standardized.TTCN-3(Testing and Test Control Notation 3rd version) is a new standard for protocol and software testing, which is published by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). It has powerful functions and a wide range of applications. This paper involved the use of TTCN-3 on a variety of protocol conformance testing is a useful attempt. This thesis mainly focuses on the design and implementation of TTCN-3 adapter, which is able to supportmulti-rotocol testing. Through analyzing the characteristics of current network protocols such as TCP, UDP, SSL and CMPP, combining with the TTCN-3 system structure, a TTCN-3 adapter supporting multi-protocol testing is designed and implemented based on socket and other technologies. The research work done in this thesis is an important attempt for realizing a generic adapter for TTCN-3 testing, through which we hope that a better improve of the adapter can be achieved in the near future With the generic adapter, the testing work can mainly focus on the protocol testing and the test scipt preparation, without having a care of the design and development of adapter, thereby it is able to promote the wide application of TTCN-3 test specification in the field of protocol testing.
