Search engine, is the most popular network information retrieval tool. According to China Internet Network Information Center, the latest research results show that in 2008 Internet users in China exceeded 200 million, and more than 80% users use search engines for information from the network on the main means. However, these search engines are still a lot of limitations, the latest survey results show that poor sorting of search results, the clutter of search results are the major factors.There are two major Page ranking methods, and one is web-based content analysis to sort, and the other is a kind of Internet-based structural analysis hyperlink to sort. Existing search engines are most of Internet-based structural hyperlink analysis. The PageRank algorithm and HITS algorithm are mainly two kinds of representation of the algorithm. Many domestic and foreign scholars and research institutions improved and explored these two algorithms.This paper introduces the background of the subject, the basic principles of search engine. The paper describes the principle of the PageRank algorithm and calculation formula. Foreign scholars and research institutions improve the PageRank algorithm through considering the shortcomings of the PageRank algorithm. The paper, in view of the improved PageRank algorithms, puts forward a new method. This method not only considers the relevance of Web content, but also considers the addition of new pages, and improves the sorting quality of web pages. In light of the new method, design and realize of a Web search engine prototype, and analyze searching results.
