Peer-to-Peer (Peer to peer network, P2P) technology is currently a hot topic of computer network research, in which File-sharing is the most popular application. New structure of P2P system and related algorithms are constantly emerging. Its feasibility and accuracy need test and validation experiments. The software simulation is an effective way in P2P network research. The P2P network simulation designs topology and protocol model, simulates network traffic transmission on computer while lacking of hardware support. In this way, it can acquire network performance to provide reference for the research.Based on the research and analysis of NS2 (Network Simulation Version 2) and related P2P simulation tools, this thesis designs a P2P network simulation platform framework based on NS2 and implements a parallel and distributed simulation based on PDNS (Parallel/Distributed, NS), supporting ten-thousand-nodes scale parallel simulation. According to the requiment of Media Telecom Network, this thesis designs and implements a MTN File Sharing algorithm, optimizing the network performance and application performance of P2P file sharing network. Based on the topology of Media Telecom Network, this thesis designs a series of simulation scenes, processes large scale parallel simulation to compare and analysis the network and application performance of MTN File Sharing and BitTorrent, to validate the function and performance of the new algorithm. The P2P network simulation platform based NS2, supporting ten-thousand-nodes scale parallel simulation, provides a common simulation framework for developing P2P protocol on NS2 and a convenient way to P2P network research. This thesis designs a MTN File Sharing algorithm. The new algorithm, which improves BitTorrent protocol and optimizes network performance, is provedd by parallel simulation. This thesis provides important reference to the real network research and application.
