The sensor is no more just a sense organ for transforming the requested signal to electrical signal, but a system which integrates the data process ability and standard network interface. This is the so-called networked intelligent sensor. Considering this develop trend and the problem of the present power monitor without standard network interface, this paper presented a method that applied the design principle of networked intelligent sensor to the power monitor design. With this method, a networked intelligent sensor for electrical parameters measure is designed, which realized the remote monitoring of the 1-phase/3-phase electrical equipment.This paper designed a networked intelligent sensor prototype for electrical parameters measurement with ADuC7027 based on the IEEE1451 smart transducer interface standard family and the principle of electrical power measure. After comprehending the principle of intelligent power sensor, the nonsynchronous sampling mode had been selected and the whole framework had been designed. The paper presented the details of the sensor's hardware and software system. The hardware system includes MCU, network controller, external memory, signal processing modules and switch-mode power supply. In order to improve the accuracy and enlarge range of the measure, a special circuit had been used to sample the current with two different amplifiers. The software system is made up of the data processing program, network communication protocol and client application. The TCP/IP protocol had been modified which realized the data transfer through the Ethernet.With large quantity of experiments, the network response time of the system and the accuracy of the parameter measurement had been tested for validating the feasibility of the sensor prototype. The experiments proved that the performance of the sensor was verified and the sensor prototype was feasible.
