The reverse engineering is development with computer technology and the development of data measurement techniques with the rapid of an emerging science and technology, also is an important number of methods for car model. Establishment of a number of auto-body physical model through the reverse engineering, can be easily applied to the body design, analysis of body stiffness, manufacture of car body panel die, and so on. Its appearance changes the original CAD system from the design drawings to the physical model, for the rapid product development and rapid prototyping design of a new approach. The first step of the reverse engineering is the sample three-dimensional data acquisition, Beginning with the known sample data points, the realization of complex surface modeling, improving, manufacturing.With the digital and automation of the measuring equipment, and continuous improvement in the degree of accuracy, model of the measurement data showed the trend of rapid growth. At present, laser measuring devices can be easily accessible thousands or even millions of measured data from the surface of products in general. This is not only a large number of measurement data to increase the load on the system, and greatly reduces the efficiency of follow-up to deal with. So, it is important for Modeling in the abstract before the pre-processing point cloud data.In order to obtain the ideal point cloud data, as well as smoothing and accurate reverse surface, will be consume a large amount of time for a large number of stacked sheet metal of the point cloud data into surface, resulting in the shape of relatively large error, also must have a professional staff to build, and the stratification point cloud data can not be used to rapid prototyping products.In this paper, on the basis of comprehensive analysis of domestic and international research in the field of reverse engineering ,study on the optimization problems in the reverse engineering, on the focus of the data processing in the CAD modeling. As follows:This paper presents and researches a new model of effective slicing method, which can be layered with the point cloud in one direction along the slice, and these sections of the point cloud to create a polygon curve, so that reduces the manual processing brought about by the shape of the error, and this partition curve can be used to direct processing of rapid prototyping products. The method is carried out directly on the point cloud operations, does not require the reconstruction of surface mesh, the smaller the error.Finally, this study will be used in automotive sheet metal parts, on a car body in white for the slicing, deal with a car sheet metal and motorcycles. After treatment I will build a test model to prove the effectiveness of the method. The data after processing design to meet the needs of the enterprise, and saving the enterprise manufacturing costs, and also improved efficiency in the manufacture of molds.
