The length, width and curl of fiber are the important morphology parameters of it. Evaluation of these parameters is an important indicator of fiber quality. The quality of fiber quality not only affects the quality of pulp, but also a direct bearing on the quality of finished paper. To achieve the length and degree of pulp fiber crimp morphology parameters such as auto-detection, to obtain accurate test results quickly in order to apply the paper industry is an important project.At present, the traditional testing method of fiber morphology parameters is the application of the main optical microscope or projector. With the development of microscopy, measuring the accuracy gradually increase the speed but its not guaranteed, not used in the production process control. Has not internally specialized fibers used in paper pulp fiber analyzer measurement. With the computer image analysis technology to make fiber morphology of the rapid measurement of parameters possible. Based on the physical properties of pulp fibers and the shape of the characteristics of the analysis, design of computer vision based on the pulp fiber analyzer, in the traditional methods of image analysis based on the theory of fiber high accuracy image processing algorithms to improve the precision and accuracy of the identification rate, the form of measurement for the fiber to open up a new way. This stage, few have the strength of the paper-making enterprises is the Fiber Quality Analyzer FQA (Fiber Quality Analyzer), but its high price hindered its wide application.In this paper, the image detection technology in the pulp fiber morphology parameter measurement applications in the further study. Digital image processing technology to the application of a further study, combined with pulp fibers of the characteristics of the image itself, and further established the pulp fibers suitable for digital image processing methods. In this paper, a brief account of the pulp fiber detection system of hardware and software platform; of the number of image pre-processing algorithm description and analysis, focusing on the kinds of fiber pulp refinement algorithm in image processing done a comparison and analysis; further on the mathematical morphology approach sums up the introduction of gray-scale morphological approach, combined with the needs of the present research, using the morphology of the various approaches to image pre-processing carried out after further processing, has made some effect; successful realization of the pulp fiber length, width and crimp measurements.
