Research And Implementation Of The General Model Management And Service System

Model management and service system is the key component of the DSS. As thetechnologies of computer and network are growing quickly, researchers have designedseveral model representations, implemented model management and service systems indifferent ways. However, few solutions are effective to manage model sources whoseformats are different on network. Besides, for the requirement of multi-model-aideddecision, the general model management and service system is designed andimplemented in this paper.Firstly, after studying the model specification for different kinds of models andanalyzing the process of model composition, the information of atom model andcomposite model script is described based on XML.Secondly, the architectural structure and functions of the modules of the system aredesigned. The general model management and service system is decomposed into fourtools: model description tool, model service tool, model information tool and modelapplication tool. The system implements uniform management and services for severalmodels compiled to different formats such as DLL, COM, EXE and Web Services, andprovides two mechanisms to support these functions. One aims to analyze decisionproblem in the way of top-down and the other aims to integrate model function in theway of bottom-up.Lastly, based on the model description and analysis of system, the general modelmanagement and service system is realized: the automatic generation of standard modeldescription file and managed file is the foundation for the system's implementation; theengine of model service is the core of model service management; the visible editor formodel composition builds the user view for the composite model; the algorithm ofcomposite-model script transforms the user view into script file, the script interpretercontrols the executing process of composite model; the communication moduleguarantees the data and information exchange of the system.
