In this thesis, the reverse engineering of shoe-last is studied, the key techniques include tool path generated from massive data points concerned with calculated cutter contact tool path, local surface modeling based on scatter points and post processing and so on. The algorithms are proved in the machining shoe-last experiment. The main works are as follows:1. Put forward the projective method of the cylindrical spiral for calculating the cutter contact tool path of shoe-last. Change the cutter contact by change the guide points on the cylindrical spiral. To raise efficiency of processing the scatter points by using the algorithm of spatial blocks.2. Based on the characteristic of calculating the normal vector only need cutter contact and nearest points, got the normal vector by local surface modeling. We avoided the disadvantages of whole triangulation mesh projecting to single plane and improve the result of triangulation mesh. Change the direction of normal vector according the established vector when got the cutter contact points. Avoid a series of tedious problems by the whole adjustment after calculated the whole normal in the documents.3. The properties of 4-axis post-processing are also analyzed in the dissertation. Different 4-axis post-processing algorithms are involved considering the different configuration of NC machine tools.4. An experiment is implemented on 4-axis machine tool. The results indicate that the proposed algorithms are correct.
